Although a native Chilean, Viu Manents Patricio Celedón, qualified in viticulture in Chile but has worked with some well-known wineries in the US & Australia, before becoming chief winemaker at Viu Manent in early 2010, bringing home his international expertise. A lighter alternative to the typically dense, inky Chilean Merlots, this example is a little softer, with a touch more raspberry & blackberry to the fruit, & the merest hint of cocoa. Drink with straightforward, meaty pasta dishes, or a lamb casserole.
