Named after Julius Ceasar, the cru village of Julienas is believed by many to have been the location of the first vineyard plantings made by Roman settlers in Beaujolais. Julienas has a more varied terrain than any other cru, & produces wines with good complexity. A ripe, lively, medium-bodied Beaujolais, with an intense nose of blueberry, blackcurrant, candied peel & flower petals. A juicy & easy-drinking palate, with friendly tannins & a pleasing freshness. superb with minted lamb.
