Spy Valley Wines is so named because of the satellite communications monitoring station that stands nearby, but is otherwise known as the Johnson Estate in the lower Waihopai Valley, established back in 1993 by Bryan & Jan Johnson. Supremely aromatic, offering an explosion of tropical fruit, ginger & pepper on the nose. The palate is both mouthwateringly crisp & sweetly unctuous, perfectly melding citrus & spiciness. Unbeatable with oriental dishes like prawns with a sweet chilli dressing, Thai red curry, or with tropical fruit desserts.
