Founded by the first Jean Girard in 1529, this vineyard, part of a 12-hectare estate spread across Savigny, Volnay & Pern&-Vergelesses, is still run by his descendants today. Many of the plots border 1er cru sites & have similarly iron-rich soils. A multitude of fresh red fruit, including raspberry & cherry on the nose, continue onto the palate, where the feel is light with silky tannins. Try with any grilled white or red meats, or feathered game.
