Installation of recessed lighting requires cutting into the ceiling area & so can compromise the ceiling fire rating. To maintain a fire rating when recessed lighting is installed the lighting itself must also be fire rated.
Fire rated downlights have an integrated protective cover or 'can' that prevents the heat & flames from being transferred through them into the ceiling void. These downlights are fully fire rated & suitable for use in 30, 60 & 90 minute fire rated ceilings.

They are also compliant with buildings regulations parts C, E & L covering air flow, acoustics & energy efficiency

These fixed downlights are only compatible with Aurora SGU10 bulbs. These bulbs are available in both warm white & cool white options. They have an extra long life, with an average life expectancy of 10, 000 hours, so they should last for years without needing replaced.
