Product Description

The original 1942 Wagenfeld table lamp made from glass & metal
- quality & history made in Germany Today, only the company TECNOLUMEN produces this re-edition of the table lamp, which was developed in 1924 & authorised by Professor Wagenfeld, based on original templates. In terms of its material, this version reflects the career of the creator, who specialised in the manufacture of glass & metal. The authenticity of this product is verifiable, based on the characteristic features. This

Includes::
the more or less hemispherical lampshade made from h&-blown opal glass, which extends with a fine border made from nickel-plated metal to the rod & round base plate. Another quality feature here is the characteristic grommet on the socket, at which the black pull-cord is located, with which the Wagenfeld table lamp can be turned on & off. At the end of the cord is also a nickel-plated bead. In this version, the metal rod leads to a glass base, where the braided black textile cable of the power cable is also located. Only the combination of these individual components guarantees the authenticity of this designer product. For verification purpose, each lamp bears the TECNOLUMEN/BAUHAUS stamp under the black base plate & is consecutively numbered. The Wagenfeld table lamp is more than a lighting product. It is a lamp with which a period of German history is integrated in the space in which it is located. A story like a good novel
- the Wagenfeld table lamp The Wagenfeld table lamp is a truly impressive story. The plot plays in the State Bauhaus in Weimar, the College of design during the Weimar Republic. Here came the leading contemporary artists together & there were countless masterpieces, which are now undisputed classics of the modern age under the term Bauhaus design. Its distinctive mark is the shape, which always follows the purpose, the material properties & the production method. The Wagenfeld table lamp is a product of Wilhelm Wagenfeld, who was just 24 years of age in 1924 & was inducted freshly as a journeyman in Bauhaus. He created this model according to a task assigned by László Moholy-Nagy, a former teacher. A lamp was created with the character of an industrial product, but actually manufactured on the basis of craftsmanship. At the same time, the Wagenfeld table lamp was the beginning of Wilhelm Wagenfeld long career as tutor & Director of various metal & glass workshops, as well as Professor at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin. The company TECNOLUMEN
- Programme with heart The company TECNOLUMEN is based entirely on the Bauhaus-style: Their first product was the Wagenfeld table lamp in 1979. In addition to Wilhelm Wagenfeld’s models, TECNOLUMEN integrated even more design classics of Bauhaus in their program; from Marianne Brandt to the designs of other designers such as Walter Schnepel. Art Deco & De Stijl are also shaping the program of this manufacturer. Instructions for use: It is recommended not to use clear glass bulbs as they could produce shadows on the opal glass. SPARE LAMPSHADE: The opal glass lampshade with nickel-plated metal edge, designed on the basis of original templates, is also separately available with the article number 9030005. Energy efficiency class:A++
