An updated version of the popular S461 PD/ES model the 2016 Mountfield S481 PD/ES self-propelled 4 wheel lawn mower features a 48 cm cutting width, single speed power drive, electric key start & mulch kit. The Mountfield S481 PD / ES has a single speed power drive which is a must for mowing larger lawns or up inclines. If a lawnmower is self-propelled it will propel the user along at a comfortable travelling pace, this saves your valuable time & cuts down on operator fatigue associated with push models. A four wheeled mower this size would be suitable for domestic lawn & garden areas of approx 40m x 40m. A 4 wheeled mower will give a good cut & finish to most lawn types. Starting this mower couldn't be simpler with the electric key start. Just turn the key, like a car & the machine starts. The Mountfield S481 PD/ES gives the operator a choice of 6 cutting height positions from 26
- 72 mm adjusted with the centralised lever so you can always pick the perfect cut for the lawn. Start on the highest setting & work down gradually to achieve the best cut & finish to the lawn. If you start too low you can put strain on the engine, block the mower, damage it or the lawn you’re trying to cut. As standard with the Mountfield S481 PD/ES you will receive a mulch plug. When fitted at the rear of the mower into the grass chute the plug allows the grass cuttings to be mulched into tiny pieces which are then blown back onto the ground. These nutrient rich pieces are re-absorbed for a healthier lawn appearance & growth.
