Only about a tenth of Roussillons wines are entitled to Villages on the label &, of these, only four of the 188 villages are allowed to state their name. Caramany is one
- a true cru of the region & indicative of the intensity youll find in its seductively rich, ripe reds. This is in part due to the steep slopes & special microclimate
- hot, sunny days & cold nights
- which make for grapes of impeccable quality. The village only has 150 inhabitants, nearly all of them are involved in wine & fiercely proud of their winemaking heritage. This young red is made from Chteauneufs Grenache with Syrah & Carignan, & is weighty & powerful thanks to the arid climate & poor slaty soils. Serve with hearty casseroles or lamb.
