What is Inositol?

Inositol is a water-soluble compound that is closely associated with the B vitamin group. It is a carbohydrate which has been found to have a sweetness taste half that of sucrose (sugar).

Why take Inositol?

Inositol has long been known for its effects on the metabolism of the human body, where it plays its part in the synthesis of secondary messengers within our body cells. It is an essential component of the phospholipids that make up cellular membranes and is found in virtually every cell in the body.  It assists in the transmission of nerve signals, and helps to transport lipids within the body.  In recent years has been studied extensively in relation to its role in insulin signalling.  Supplementation has become popular and it is now widely recommended by practitioners, particularly for those with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

Manufactured using high grade myo-inositol

Our capsules contain only myo-Inositol as opposed to D-chiro-inositol.  They each contain 500mg of myo-Inositol, are UK-made, easy to swallow, taste-free and a fully vegetarian and vegan capsule.

Food sources of Inositol

Foods containing the highest concentrations of myo-Inositol include fruits, beans, grains and nuts, however in grains this is in a non-available form called phytate. The more bioavailable form of Inositol comes from lecithin.

Product: I’ve recently be diagnosed with PCOS, 7 years of irregular periods. Most recently I had gone 4 months without a period. Having read about this supplement on facebook PCOS support groups I thought I’d give it a go. After 2 weeks of taking just 1g a day I got a period! I’ve started tracking again on the Flo app and I’ve just had my 2nd period - I think these capsules have really helped so I would really recommend to any other PCOS girlies to try if they’re struggling with regulating periods. I’m now keeping my fingers crossed that these caps continue to work!

Product: I ordered these as an alternative to Metformin which I didnt like the side effects of. These are definitely better and working for my PCOS symptoms and helped me lose weight. The only downside is mild acne around my chin but nothing too drastic. The benefits outweigh this and it seems to have settled after a month of taking it.

I started with 1 tablet at breakfast and 1 tablet at tea for the first 3 months
I now take 2 tablets with breakfast and 2 tablets for tea
I take the myo-inositol alongside the metformin I'm on.

Product: I started using myo inositol to treat PCOS symptoms after coming off hormonal contraception which had been causing anxiety for many years. Other products I have tried upset my stomach but these are really great. Started seeing results after 3 months (at a higher dose than recommended on the packet, but that's at your own risk/do your own background reading) Periods are now fairly normal in cycle length and my hormonal acne drastically improved. And i have seen an improvement in my blood glucose levels although this is combination with better diet choices. The packaging is fully compostable which I love and I've already recommended it to several people who would like to come off hormonal contraception but have PCOS.
