images. This drone school
has gathered some of
country's finest CAA
approved drone pilots to
provide the best teaching
possible. Crucially all
lessons are provided on a
one to one basis so they
are entirely geared to
you and your needs. The
idea is that the teaching
incorporates both theory
and practical so as well
as hands-on drone
operating you get a good
understanding of the
technicalities and issues
behind operating drones.

devised the drone lessons
as an extra after-sales
service for clients who
were buying drones from

said a
professional-standard
drone like the DJI
Phantom doesn't come
cheap and whilst the
manufacturer says it can
be flown straight out the
box you risk crashing or
even losing the drone if
you haven't been taught
the basics. And now
having given over 3000
hours of coaching and
drone lessons between
them these pro pilots
have got delivering drone
lessons spot on. They've
devised what they call
the 4:4:3 methodology for
learning how to fly a
drone and they reckon
with an hour of private
tuition from your CAA
approved drone pilot
anyone can be safely
flying and filming with
their drone. A second
hour allows for more
flying time and gives you
the chance to experience
some of DJI's fantastic
'intelligent flight'
modes even instructing
the drone to fly itself!
Each lesson is bespoke to
you too. So if you've
already dipped your toe
into the world of drones
and actually want to make
the most of the DJI Go
App that's possible. So
is the chance to focus on
how to get the best out
of your filming and
stills photography using
a drone. You can even use
the lesson as a stepping
stone to learn more about
getting your PfCO (that's
the Permission for
Commercial Operations
certification from the

Drone Flying Experience London

Looking for drone flying
in London? This is where
it all happens. These
drone flying lessons with
the essential Flyer ID
module take place at
Theobalds Park just off
J25 of the M25 - and it's
London's first outdoor
drone flying arena! You
can no longer just turn
up and fly a drone
outside. Since the CAA
introduced new
regulations in November
2019 anyone flying a
drone outdoors will need
a Flyer ID. The first
module on this drone
course proposed by this
London-based team is to
pass the theory test
needed for your official
Flyer ID. Your training
starts on the drone
simulator. You've got a
real set of controls in
your hands to fly a
virtual drone on the high
definition screens in
front of you. A bit like
a radio controlled car
you may have used before
it does take a little
time to get to grips with
the basic control moves
so this is an excellent
way to get started. Then
you'll move out to the
drone arena. This is a
specially designed
circuit with slaloms to
test your new found
piloting skills. As you
weave in and out of the
flags through the aerial
hoops and loop back
around you'll soon
appreciate how agile your
Mavic Pro drone is. But
of course aerial obstacle
courses aren't the only
things drones are used
for. Drones are superb
for aerial videos and
photos and that's the
next step in your drone
course in London. You'll
be training with a
Phantom 4 to hone your
visual skills practicing
videoing and
photographing techniques
from the air. Then comes
the big one. The Inspire
X5S series is the
commercial drone of the
moment for professionals.
Providing incredible
5.2k-quality aerial
footage this is the go to
drone for producing
images to impress. It's
also pretty nifty capable
of flying at up to 70mph
(handy for following a
cheetah running across
the Serengeti for
example!). You'll be
using the Inspire to
capture your own antics
from the air as you get
the drone up to 400ft to
take footage of you your
fellow drone lesson
colleagues and spectators
waving at the camera.
It's a neat little
memento of the day you
took your drone lesson in
