Product Description

About the Coffee Table Warren Platner’s coffee table, created 1962, is really just a lowered down version of the dining table that Platner designed in the same year, & which can also be purchased here at Ikon M. In addition to being lower, the coffee table also has wider feet. Making a table in several different heights & sizes, so that it can serve different functions, was a very clever move by Platner, especially when it enables users to combine his other pieces with this beautiful glass table. History of the Coffee Table In the 1960s, Warren Platner used steel wire to sculpture an entire array of wired furniture, creating what is now considered a design icon of the modern era. To make the coffee table in several sizes not only increased the opportunities for manufacturers to sell more tables, it also made it easier for consumers who appreciate good design to find a size for their particular needs. This reproduction only comes in one size, but Platner’s coffee table looks good in any home, whether it contains a Platner Dining Table or not, & has become an iconic piece. Dimensions Height 39 cm Diameter 92 cm
