I Love Type
- Bodoni
Created in 1798 by Italian printer & typographer Giambattista Bodoni, Bodoni was a studied product of revolutionand innovation, bearing strong influences of Didot, the earliest modern typeface. Its contrasting stroke weight, hairline serifs & narrow structure, even the many variations it inspired in the 20th century, is seen a big challenge to application in design. But if used well, the typeface could often give a great sense of sobriety & elegancelike no others can. With a sound introduction by Wolfgang Hartmann, owner of Bauer Types who released Bauer Bodoni, considered to be the most delicate & graceful version of Bodoni, I Love Bodoni highlights the effective appearance of Bodoni & its affiliated families in todays graphic design as the third volume of the I Love Type series, masterly produced by Victionary & Two Points.
