GRAW 2
Following the failure of the coup d'état in Mexico City, Mexican rebels have gathered their remaining forces along the US border, & the whole of Mexico is undergoing a full-scale civil war. The Ghosts have fewer than 72 hours to stop a nuclear attack. It's the first time on US soil that you get the chance to lead your team of elite Special Forces
- straddling the border between Juarez, Mexico & El Paso, Texas. The Ghosts are the last line of defence & must do what it takes to protect the country. You'll battle enemies in mountain terrains, barren deserts & on your home turf in El Paso. Each environment comes with its own benefits & challenges & thus require new tactical approaches.
The Cross-Com 2.0 gives you more information than ever. You can see what your friendly forces see in the top left display & the click of a button expands that to a full-screen view for a more precise picture. This will give you a more comprehensive view of the entire battlefield. The new Full Command View allows unprecedented precision in developing & issuing tactical plans on the battlefield. While on the battlefield, you can command air strikes with jet fighters, get mobile cover for difficult situations, & replenish armaments on the battlefield using an unmanned artillery MULE. Wannabe soldiers can now heal their team on the battlefield too, including squad leader Scott Mitchell, with an all-new Medic class of soldier.
Future Soldier
Many war-based shooters have nailed the feeling of being in a battlefield. Explosions everywhere, bullets flying by your head, squad mates yelling commands, & countless ‘do or die’ situations. But few have actually conveyed the feeling of being a badass soldier. The Ghost Recon series is different
- & Future Soldier really ups the ante.
A lot of it is down to the fluid, refined controls & visceral sound direction
- from the very first mission, you can get a real sense of the slower, rhythmic pace of this third-person tactical shooter. Whilst sneaking around, you are handed many opportunities to cap unsuspecting terrorist soldiers in the head. Each shot feels powerful, & every kill returns a satisfying ‘thud, ’ making you feel a little bit like Superman every time.
In Future Soldier, America’s worst enemy has once again become the Russians. A para-military faction looks to overthrow the current Federation & re-establish the country as a superpower.
Where Ubisoft has really laid down some impressive work is in the artificial intelligence. Your squad mates are smart enough to know where to go, what to do & how best to assist you without the player issuing any commands whatsoever. Similarly, the enemy AI has been enhanced to the point where you will be fighting against formidable opponents. Without paying attention to the benefits of the future-age gadgets you wield & the nuances of the game’s mechanics, you’re going to fall pretty hard.
