Lipoic acid works as a powerful & unique antioxidant that neutralises damaging free radicals in both the water & fat-soluble parts of the cell & cell membrane, & is capable of regenerating vitamin C, vitamin E, & other antioxidants from their oxidised into their reduced forms, making them active once again. Lipoic acid increases production of another powerful antioxidant, glutathione, which is a well known liver detoxifier. Lipoic acid forms dihydrolipoic acid in the body, which is an even more powerful antioxidant than Lipoic acid.
