Pot up petunia plants & grow them on in warm frost-free conditions for transplanting later on. Pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage branching & form a bushier plant which will produce more flowers later on. When all risk of frost has passed gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days before transplanting them outdoors into baskets window boxes & containers in well drained soil in full sun.
Feed & water petunia plants regularly particularly during hot dry periods. Regular deadheading of petunia flowers will encourage further blooms to be produced throughout the summer.

Sow March to August every 3 weeks for continuous crops. Sow thinly in either narrow or broad drills 13mm deep allowing 23cm between drills. White Lisbon is popular & reliable for in succession sowings throughout the season. No thinning is necessary & make sure these are kept watered to ensure best quality crops. Harvest May to October later sowings may remain through to December if the weather remains mild.
