Snowball Onions are lovely white-skinned onions with a mild flavour that are often used as a base for sauces or in Mexican cooking. This variety matures and completes its lifecycle over approximately 3 years or more and grows to a height of around 45cm. It is a good choice for beginners or people who like low maintenance gardens stores well and is excellent for pickling.
A great value pack at a great price Snowball Onions are best planted in fertile or good quality soil that is well drained. Plant them in a row approx. 10cm apart with the tips slightly above soil level. They will start to sprout very quickly once planted sometimes after only two to three weeks.
