Gladioli like a well-drained moisture retentive soil in full sun & protected from strong winds. Gladioli need water during the growing period & mulching with compost will help conserve moisture. In very cold areas lift after flowering & store frost free over winter. Plant some every few weeks from April to June to ensure flowers from summer to autumn.
In autumn allow the foliage to die back naturally before lifting the corms & cleaning them of soil & any remaining stems. Dry them in a well ventilated position for 2 weeks before storing them in a frost-free location for the winter.
