Just imagine the familiar fragrance of Sweet Peas growing in a basket near an open window or hung outside the front door. This new specially bred Sugar n Spice variety is guaranteed to spice up your baskets & containers & its fragrance is every bit as sweet as its taller cousins.

Sugar n Spice comes in a spectacular colour range including bicolours with blooms produced all along the short stems & from each leaf node forming a ball of rich colour.

This hardy annual is great for baskets containers & as ground cover with a spread of 18cm (7in). Sow January indoors or April to May outdoors at 20-25C on the surface of a free draining damp seed compost at 3 seeds per 7.5cm pot. Cover with a layer of compost 1cm deep & place in a propagator or seal container in a polythene bag until after germination which takes 10-21 days.

When large enough to handle transplant seedlings into 7.5cm pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions before planting out in spring when the ground has warmed 23cm apart. For best results provide a rich moist well-drained soil in full sun. Water plants freely in dry weather & cut flowers regularly to prolong flowering period an application of manure may also be beneficial during growth.
