Bowmore, the first Islay single malt whisky since 1779, is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland & the producer of the very first legal single malt whisky on Islay. Bowmore still uses traditional production methods including floor malted barley & the famous No. 1 Vaults where the whisky spends most of its life. It is the only distillery (of any size) on Islay to malt its own barley. The peat smoke & marine notes balanced with a sweet, citrus, freshness give Bowmore its distinctive taste. Full & smoky. The iodine quality is muted, & dry sweet paprika wafts through.
