It has been produced exclusively for English Heritage as part of our range for Down House Kent home of Charles Darwin from 1842 until his death in 1882. The image on the front of the sweatshirt is a copy of the famous Tree of Life sketch Darwin jotted down in a notebook after travelling the world on HMS Beagle (1831-6). It formed the basis of his theory of evolution & natural selection later outlined in his ground-breaking book On the Origin of Species which he wrote whilst at Down House.
