endeavor's Archetype has garnered itself an enviable reputation as one of the most advanced snowboards available. It's unique design, and advanced construction has created a genuinely stunning snowboard that blends the effortless lift and float of a powder board with the all-terrain versatility of an all-mountain charger. This remarkable snowboard is built around a state of the art shape which cuts through powder like a fork through ice cream yet has the stability to pop a natural feature and land with confidence, producing a truly unique riding experience. If you're planning on doing a season or if you're one of those riders that loves to ride pow, but don’t want to invest in a full quiver of boards, then the Archetype's unique performance both in the pow and over the rest of the mountain means it could be the perfect board for you..Rider Style: Advanced All-Terrain ridersAimed at experienced riders, the Archetype is the perfect choice for anyone looking for a high-performance board that's going to deliver the float of a powder board with the versatility of an all-mountain charger.Shape Overview: Directional The Archetype’s advanced tapered directional shape features a wider powder focused nose with full length slightly narrower swallow-tail. This innovative design allows the nose to rise and the tail to sink, giving effortless float in deep snow. However, thanks to that full length tail with additional reinforcing down the legs of the swallow tail, the Archetype still delivers outstanding performance on the piste and pop and power from the tail.Profile: Hover CamberTraditional camber behind the front foot with an elongated early rise out to the nose keeps you floating in even the deepest soft snow.ConstructionHeading up the Archetype’s quality construction is the versatile Poplar + Paulownia with Birch reinforcing core. This durable wood core delivers the perfect balance of performance, durability and lightweight and is the perfect foundation for a high-performance board. To this endeavor then create structural layers from a torsionally stiffer tri-ax glass. These structural layers give the board its more dynamic ride and help step up both performance and stability another level. Now to add extra pop to the Archetype endeavor add Carbon beams running down each leg of the swallow tail. These stiffen up the tail and eliminate the softer and less dynamic tail that swallow shapes normally deliver. This stiffer tail is what transforms the boards performance from being powder specific into a more versatile ride. Now to add additional durability to the board it utilises the Smoothride Urethane Sidewalls. These Infused urethane sidewalls reduce vibration and absorb hard impacts for less chatter and leg fatigue.Base: SinteredThe hardest base in the industry gives durability and speed in a highly wax absorbent package.
THe WORLDS MOST ADVANCeD POWDeR BOARD ReDUXWhen they first launched the YeS 20/20, it's no exaggeration to say that it completely changed the way snowboarders approached backcountry snowboarding. For the first time, riders had the opportunity to walk away from the long, directional boards that had become the norm for powder riding and finally step up to a true twin shape that allowed them to push the boundaries of backcountry freestyle. Now great as the original 20/20 was, it was primarily designed to work in powder. Unfortunately, once you got it out on the mountain, it seemed out of its depth. However, for the 2021 season, the 20/20 has been re-engineered to not only deliver exceptional performance in pow but to kill it over the rest of the mountain as well. With a fully revised 3D Coreless construction and advanced MidBite edge profile, Yes has created a unique snowboard that once again revolutionises snowboard performance, but this time it revolutionises it everywhereRider Style: Resort and Backcountry Freestyle riders.Freestyle riders who are looking for a high-performance snowboard that delivers excellent performance on the hill and in the park, but which also delivers powder board levels of lift and float in even the deepest snow.Shape OverviewThe advanced 20/20 PowderHull is the result of 2 years of design, prototyping and testing new variations of twin hull designs to draw out more refined floatation through base contours while improving in-resort, hard-pack performance. The first step was to pull the hull outline back from the very tips of the board, allowing the base to return to a more conventional surface profile needed for popping off jumps and holding onto backseat landings or high-speed wheelies. This refined concave maintains the original peak depth that is responsible for the PowderHull's magical lift and floatation. However, by blending the Powder Hull into the base, Yes have been able to achieve a more predictable flex throughout the length of the board that has improved performance on both powder and hardpack. That performance is then further enhanced with the addition of the MidBite edge profile. This pulls in the sidecut profile through the middle of the board, allowing the designers to maintain the width you need for great float without compromising edge to edge speed.ProfileAs the new 20/20 has stepped up its all-terrain performance, it now utilises the Modern Camber profile. Designed to work in harmony with the Mid-Bite edges, the traditional camber delivers a solid and dynamic ride both on the edge and through the turn.ConstructionInspired by George Greenough's groundbreaking Velo kneeboard designs of the '60s, Yes's CoreLess tech similarily creates translucent holes in the PowderHull areas. By removing areas of the Weightless wood core and modifying the resin ratios, the designers achieved substantial weight savings without compromising structural strength. Beyond weight saving, removing the core here was specifically an advantage of developing the 20/20's innovative new PowderHull design. Without the shaping/flex limitations of wood, Yes were able to create highly refined base contours and develop a level of performance that was previously unachievable. ensuring that the 20/20 can take advantage of that new advanced construction, the structural layers are formed from high-performance tri-ax glass. These step-up the torsional rigidity of the board, ensuring that no matter how or where you ride, it's always going to deliver.BaseAs the 20/20 is all about high performance, Yes utilise a True Sintered base. True Sintered is harder and more expensive than extruded, and it can be faster for those that ride aggressively fast. However, to do that, it needs to be waxed more often and prepared for local conditions.

Its distinctive wide nose, narrow swallow design has completely redefined powder board performance; however, what makes the Surfer so unique compared to other boards in this category is the way that it handles groomers. Thanks to its advanced geometry and exaggerated 3BT base profile, the Surfers performance out and about on the mountain is nothing short of remarkable. Yes, it’s expensive, but the best things in life always are. But to be honest, ride this board for just one day, especially a powder day, and you’ll realise that you just can’t put a price on how good it is.Rider Style: Back Country Chargers and Powder-Hounds.experienced riders are looking for the ultimate in off-piste performance combined with a mind-bending ride on the piste.Shape Overview: Directional Swallow TailWhen you first set eyes on the Surfer, there’s no doubt that you’ll want one, it is that special. However, there’s much more to that stunning shape than just aesthetics. Described by the factory as the most complex shaped snowboard they’ve ever built, the Surfers directional swallow tail profile has been designed to deliver the ultimate in performance. Its wide profile nose gives a level of lift and float at the front end that is nothing short of incredible. The fact it does this without being long and unwieldy is a testament to just how innovative the Surfer’s design is. Now at the tail, Bataleon fit a very complex swallow, this sinks the back of the board in deep snow, but more importantly, it also works in harmony with the Surfer’s tight sidecut to power up the tail of the board in the carve.Profile: Pow 3BT with SidekickThe Surfer utilises Bataleon’s Pow 3BT profile with SideKick technology. This unique shape combines a narrow centre base section with wider, longer and higher side base upturns, giving unrivalled float at the front end and effortless turn initiation. The added upturn of the Sidekicks gives lightning-fast turn engagement. At the tail, the shorter and less pronounced side base upturns are integrated into the swallowtail, giving the board stunning response when steering off the back of the board in the pow or when driving out of turns on groomers. This is all then matched with a mellow traditional camber profile to step up control and response and to give the board that extra stability that you only really get with camber.Side KicksSideKick increases the side base uplift just outside the widest part of the nose and tail, making turn initiation smoother, increasing float in powder and improving the handling of the board in rough terrain.ConstructionInternally Bataleon doesn’t hold back when it comes to what’s inside the Surfer, and that’s one of the reasons why it performs so well even away from the backcountry. Heading up the high-end construction for this season is the all-new Ultra-Light Air Ride Core. THe WORLDS MOST ADVANCeD POWDeR BOARD It’s not too much of a stretch to say that the 20/20 has revolutionised backcountry snowboarding. Prior to it first appearing, if you wanted a powder board, it was always going to be fully directional, great for charging but not too hot for those big back country kickers spins where what you really need is a twin. Well, thanks to some creative thinking and taking inspiration from other sports, Yes finally found a way to get the float of a powder board out of a true twin shape. By adapting the hydroplaning hull principal from surfing, Yes has managed to get lift and float, without the need for volume in the nose. This has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for backcountry snowboarding progression. Rider StylePowder riders who are looking to take all the balance and control of a freestyle board deep into the backcountry, all whilst wanting a board that will work out and about on the mountain. Shape OverviewThe 20/20 is built around a unique twin tipped shape. This balanced and versatile shape works equally well when ridden both forwards and switch. With its centred stance, it’s hard to see how this board will work so well in the powder. However, it’s the innovative 3D Powder Hull that is the key to the 20/20’s stunning performance. This creates two distinctive concave zones, at both the nose and tail designed to channel snow and give the board its outstanding powder performance. The concave shape acts differently at the leading end of the board than it does at the trailing end when riding in deep snow. At the leading end, the concave draws air under the board causing lift and floatation. As the snow moves across the base, it releases off the trailing end, causing the back of the board to drop downward. The smart thing about the Powder Hull technology is that it has no impact on the boards effective edge, so for what is a shortboard, you get a relatively long effective edge. ProfileUnlike most other boards, the 20/20’s profile is integrated into the Powder Hull geometry, however if we want to compare it with traditional shapes it’s basically a flat profile with early rise tip and tail.Designed to work in harmony with the concave sections of the tip and tail, it gives the perfect balance of all mountain versatility and powder board lift and float. ConstructionInternally the 20/20 utilises YeS’s Weightless core. This is the lightest core in the Yes range and strikes a critical balance between light weight and strength. Using a lower density species of Poplar in areas that are not as structural and Paulownia in the areas that are, Yes shave precious weight off the board. This helps it not only float but also “feel” floaty. To ensure that the 20/20 still has the response to deliver exceptional performance away from the pow, YeS create the structural layers from torsionally stiff tri-ax glass. BaseAs the 20/20 is all about high performance, Yes step up the base material to a True Sintered material. As soon as Yes introduced their ground-breaking Powder Hull technology in the 20/20, it was always a case of when, not if, that they were going to add it to the 420. Well they have, but instead of just adding it onto the standard 420 they went and totally redesigned the whole board, ensuring that the 420 PH becomes the benchmark for short performance powder focused snowboards. So, what have they done? Well, the best place to start is with the unique Powder Hull design. By creating what could be described as a catamaran style scoop in the front of the board, Yes have managed to channel snow down and under the nose giving a level of lift at the front that is nothing short of miraculous. Then, by replicating the same shape at the tail, albeit with a smaller profile, you get the opposite effect. By blowing the snow out you get sink at the back of the board resulting in a ride that feels like you're floating on air.So, now you have all this extra lift, you really don't need that ultra-wide platform as the standard 420, enabling Yes to pull in the width of the board. So not only do you take a step up the performance in the powder, you also get a more responsive and reactive ride both off and on piste.Internally the 420 PH shares the same high quality lightweight construction as the standard 420, so heading this up is the poplar and paulownia weightless core. This super light wood core is then reinforced with tri-ax glass to ensure that the board has all the power and response it needs to take advantage of that narrow waist and deep sidecut. Finally, to ensure you get all the speed you ever need Yes fit a high spec sintered base.Additional information Size Nose Width Waist Width Tail Width Sidecut Radius Rider weight 154cm 32.4 27.3 30.89 6.71 60-85+kg

THe WORLDS MOST ADVANCeD POWDeR BOARD YeS’s state of the art Powder Hull technology has revolutionised backcountry snowboarding, and this is nowhere more obvious than with the stunning 420 Powder Hull. As the big brother to the standard 420, the PH takes inspiration from its little brother’s fish inspired shape but integrates into it the stunning Powder Hull technology. This advanced design creates concave base profiles in both the nose and tail that have been specially designed to channel snow under the board while sinking the tail at the rear. This creates genuinely awe-inspiring levels of lift and float in even the deepest snow. With the Powder Hull shape being so efficient at generating lift and float, YeS has been able to cut down on the width of the 420PH compared to that of the normal 420. This has created a narrower riding platform so not only do you get that increase in lift and float you also get a more responsive ride on the piste. Rider StylePowder riders who are looking for the ultimate in deep snow float, but who still want a board that’s going to work on the piste. Shape OverviewThe 420PH is built around a tapered directional shape inspired by the standard 420. This versatile and easy going shape helps keep the nose up without losing the tail’s ability to hold in hard-pack. The stance is set back only slightly from the centre of the effective edge as it’s the longer and wider nose shape and short tail that stops you going over the nose. To ensure that the 420 PH still has the response to deliver exceptional performance away from the pow, YeS create the structural layers from torsionally stiff tri-ax glass. BaseAs the Powder Hull is all about high performance, Yes step up the base material over the standard 420 to a True Sintered material. True Sintered is harder and more expensive than extruded, and it can be faster for those that ride aggressively fast. However, to do that, it needs to be waxed more often and prepared for local conditions.Additional information Length Waist Width Sidecut Taper effective edge Tip Width Tail Width Min Stance Max Stance Setback Weight Range 154 27.3cm 6.712m 1.51cm 111.1cm 32.4cm 30.89cm 53.2cm 61.2cm 1.5cm 130-170+lbs / 60-77+kg
THe POWDeR BOARD THAT STARTeD A ReVOLUTION This 420 is all about surface area displacement to create float and stability, which in layman’s terms means it’s about getting lift from width rather than from length. What this achieves is a stunning short powder board that has a massively reduced swing-weight. This low swing weight is then matched with a super tight radius sidecut to create a board that can turn on sixpence in even the deepest snow. Now that all sounds great in theory but how does that work in real life. Well, do one run on a 420, and it’s safe to say your world will change. This board is that good to ride! The float is effortless, and its uncanny ability to make you feel like a pro snowboarder will have you grinning from ear to ear within seconds. Rider Styleevery snowboarder no matter how good or bad needs one of these for riding powder. Yes, it is that good. Shape OverviewThe 420 is inspired by surfboard shaper Steve Lis, and the 420 revolution that occurred when kneeboards influenced surfboard design. Working off the theory that riding Powder is all about flotation, it, therefore, makes sense that it’s the displacement of a board’s volume that is key rather than length. So, by punching out the waist width and drastically chopping the length, the 420 retains the surface area of a larger board, therefore displacing the same volume of snow for a much shorter length. The 148, for example, has the same circumference and base surface as a traditional 160, but as its mass is located much closer to your feet, it results in a far more manoeuvrable board. A light taper (12mm) helps keep the nose up without losing the tail’s ability to hold in hard-pack. Stance is only slightly set back from the centre of the effective edge because of the difference in nose and tail shovel. ProfileThe 420 utilises YeS’s powder-specific PowRock profile. This features an extended rocker zone in the nose with a set-back flat area from just forward of the front insert pack. This combination gives impressive amounts of lift at the tip while providing the board with a dynamic and poppy overall ride. The short rocker zone in the reduced length tail helps the back of the board sink in the pow while still delivering great drive out the end of the turn. ConstructionInternally the 420 Powder Hull utilises YeS’s Weightless core. This is the lightest core in the Yes range and strikes a critical balance between light weight and strength. Using a lower density species of Poplar in areas that are not as structural and Paulownia in the areas that are, Yes shave precious weight off the board. This helps it not only float but also “feel” floaty. To ensure that the 420 still has the response to deliver exceptional performance away from the pow, YeS create the structural layers from torsionally stiff tri-ax glass. BaseThe 420 uses what we call Sintered Spec base material. This has the hardness and chemical properties, aswell as almost identical on-snow performance to that of a true sintered base, but is formed using the extrusion process. How? – Well, the raw material is actually pre-consumer recycled (meaning it never left the factory) sintered base material. So, while the heating and extrusion process has softened it slightly, it’s still much harder than true extruded.Additional information Length Waist Width Sidecut Taper effective edge Tip Width Tail Width Min Stance Max Stance Setback Weight Range 145 26cm 5.9m 1.58cm 102cm 30.94cm 29.36cm 45.5cm 53.2cm 1.5cm 120-170lbs / 54-77kg 148 28.6cm 5.94m 1.6cm 105.1cm 33.78cm 32.18cm 53.2cm 61.2cm 1.5cm 140-190lbs / 64-86kg 152 28.6cm 6.1m 1.83cm 107.5cm 38cm 33.95cm 32.12cm 63.7cm 1.5cm 140-190lbs / 64-86+kg
