Lanson is one of the oldest champagne houses founded in 1760 by Francois Delamotte, a magistrate from Reims. Not only is it one of the oldest house, but it is also one of the biggest with cellars that stretch over 4miles. The Lanson Black Label is a champagne that is loved all over the world being one of the best selling champagnes world wide. Created from three grape varieties including 35% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir & 15% Pinot Meunier & then aged for 3 years. An impressive range of 40 to 50 crus are blended together to form this champagne & they are all vivified separately so the cellar master has an exceptional choice of aromas available to him, thus guaranteeing the consistent Lanson at all times. Lanson Brut's brilliant & clear colour is reminiscent of the straw colour & hints of amber characteristic of the Pinot Noir grape. On the nose, the impression is one of vitality & scents of spring mixed with a touch of toast & honey. The palate consists of ripe fruit & citrus to create a sensation of fullness, fruitiness & lightness. A pleasant racy wine with a long & lingering taste.
