This bottle pay tribute to Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor Jr, a man who played an instrumental part in the Bottle in Bond act of 1897, protecting consumers from being sold bogus bourbons. Like all bourbons that are ‘bottled in bond', the label requires that the bottle of bourbon must only contain barrels distilled by a single distillery, in a single season, stored in a bonded warehouse for four years before bottling & bottled at 100 proof. The E H Taylor Straight Rye bourbon follows these rules & regulations & has earned its namesake. Bottled at 100 proof & made from straight rye & malted barley, no corn, gives this bourbon an aroma full of dried fruit, black pepper & a touch of fresh dill. A small sip brings an array of flavours both sweet & savoury with a terrific balancer of dark spices & subtle caramel overtones. The finish is especially pleasing with an oaky dryness that lingers just long enough.
