The Ardbeg 10 year old is known to be one of the peatiest, smokiest, most complex single malt of them all. It is a whiskey that is not created in the conventional way of Whisky making. Most are chill-filtered & reduced to the strength of 40% ABV, however Ardbeg is not chill filtered & bottled at a strength of 46% ABV. When a Whisky is not chill-filtered, it contains more of the flavour from the peat & barley, making this one of the most flavourful Whiskies there is The Ardbeg Uigeadail was named best whisky of the year because of its utter brilliant silkiness & complexity is on another level that other distilleries could only dream of. Named Uigeadail because it is where Ardbeg gets its water from & translates from Scottish Galic as " Dark & mysterious Place". The Uigeadail is married together from bourbon barrel to sherry cask giving a sweet & smoky finish to the malt.
