Ardbeg Blasda is an experiment from the people of Ardbeg. It got its name from the Galic meaning of the word Blasda, which means Sweet & delicious. Some people say that they are the kings of making peated whisky, so they took it upon themselves to create a whisky that wasn't as peated as their others. The Blasda has a peated level of 8ppm compared to the 10 year old which has a peated level of 50 ppm, ppm stand for phenol in parts per million. They invented this lower peated whisky to attract none peat whisky drinkers to a whole new style of whisky. It is an introduction for them to experience the difference in flavour on a small level, rather than diving right in & drinking a bottle of the ardbeg 10 yo. It is a very subtle & flavourful whisky full of fruity flavour & floral aromas. A great introduction to peated whisky & we believe the experiment paid off.
