Back in the day it was a concoction one would order in a US diner or soda fountain. Consisting of a glass of cola with a shot of cherry syrup. In 1985 Coke release it's own prepacked variety Cherry Coke (or Choke as it is sometimes affectionately known!) & 3 years later Pepsico hit back with their own Wild version. Like Coke & Pepsi the two battling varieties of cola have their staunch fans, with Wild Cherry Pepsi drinkers claiming their bevy of choice has a more authentic cherry flavour & Cherry Coke drinkers dismissing such claims by saying that Cherry Cola isn't supposed to taste like authentic cherry flavour in the first place.
