This elegant Flora Fine Bone China Mug is part of the Victoria & Albert Museum range. Perfect as a gift, the fine bone china mug comes presented in a matching Flora printed presentation box. Each of the Victoria & Albert Museum items has been interpreted using original material to create strong commerical surface patterns taken from the archives of the Victoria & Albert Museum. Inspiration has been drawn from various sources including traditional William Morris wallpapers, exotic far eastern silks & various rare & distinctive artefacts. In 1866 the first director of the V&A, Sir Henry cole, commissioned the then relatively unknown Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. to design The Green Dining Room at the V&A & brought the designs of reformer William Morris (1834-1896) to the attention of the British public. This range is developed from Morris & Cos. fresh patterns & flat, naturalstic flower & foliage designs, held in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum.
