Spectrum analyser HM 5014-2
Spectrum Analyser HM 5014-2
    The useable frequency
    range of the new spectrum
    analysers HM 5012-2 and
    HM 5014-2 stretches from
    150 kHz to 1.05 GHz. As
    resolution bandwidths 9
    kHz, 120 kHz and 1 MHz
    are available. The
    synthesiser controlled
    frequency generation
    (DDS) is new with
    increased frequency
    stability through a TCXO
    reference oscillator. It
    enables an extremely
    accurate and repeatable
    frequency setting, which
    can be set either
    numerically with the
    keyboard or incrementally
    with a rotary dial. The
    remaining functions can
    be changed with rotary
    dial or directly with the
    keyboard. The spectrum is
    digitised and saved in
    real time. The display of
    spectrum occurs with a
    resolution of 2, 000
    sampling points and a
    dynamic range of max. 80
    dB.

    The set measuring
    parameters are displayed
    on the monitor of the
    spectrum analyser or with
    LEDs. Extensive measuring
    capabilities in the EMC
    area are another feature.
    This includes assessment
    of the signal level with
    max., hold and average
    functions.
    The exact analysis of the
    measurement curve is
    carried out with a marker
    whose X-position can be
    selected with a rotary
    dial, resulting in a
    frequency and level
    signal. An additional
    advantage is the stored
    reference, in which the
    current spectrum can be
    saved for comparative
    measurements.

    In the model HM 5014-2 a
    tracking generator is
    integrated, making
    possible demanding
    measurements in the
    frequency range 150 kHz
    to 1.05 GHz. Thus,
    two-gate measurements,
    such as at filters, can
    be done. The reproduced
    network analyser makes
    amplification and
    attenuation measurements
    possible. The output
    level can be adjusted
    between 50 dBm and +1 dBm
    in 0.2 dB steps with the
    keyboard or rotary
    encoder.
    For communication with
    the PC devices are
    equipped with a standard
    built-in RS-232
    interface. The supplied
    software offers
    additional functions and
    analyses of measurements
    in Win 9x, ME, NT4.0,
    2000 and
    XP.
