Graham Blyth, one of the founders of Soundcraft, developed a new pre-amp and EQ design to mark the company's 30th anniversary. The LX711 mixer is equipped with these new mic pre-amps, GB30. The design of the successful MH series was taken as a base and related components were transferred over to the LX711 mixer. This has meant the noise performance and clipping resistance could be improved to a level not previously possible in this price class. The same goes for the GB30 precision EQ- the MH series tone control was integrated into the LX711 using cheaper components. This has allowed targeted sound adjustment without undesirable secondary effects on neighbouring frequencies. The mid bands are semi-parametric (with variable frequency). In addition, the LX711 also has the tried and tested 7-bus structure (4 groups, separate mono and stereo total) with user-friendly LED displays and 6 aux send channels. In each case, the phantom voltage is separately switchable for 4 channels.

The new Soundcraft EPM series combines quality, a reasonable price and an easy-to-use user interface. Components with low tolerances enable accurate settings, which are equally important especially for pre-amplifier and equaliser. The EPM-series offers 3 models with 6, 8 or 12 mono-channels and 2 stereo channels each. For the first time in this price class, use is made of the GB30 pre-amp design which is also in use in GB series mixers. These pre-amps are particularly secure against clipping. They have a frequency response of 55dB and provide a +22 dB headroom. A phantom voltage supplies condenser mics of all types with true +48 V. A special feature here is the peak LED. This monitors the signal at different points and gets brighter and brighter the closer the signal gets to the clip limit. The mixer has a built-in switched PSU and the mains cable socket has been fitted in such a way so as not to require any additional rack space. The Soundcraft EPM series is suited for live broadcasts, fixed installations and recording applications.
Yamaha's new MG-series can be used at all places, where good sound, reliability and simple use are important without any compromises: No matter whether solo-home recording or live concert, Yamaha's new "One-knob"-compressor makes additional devices superfluous for the dynamic processing. If you are looking for a high-quality mixing board, which delivers top-quality sound and has an SPX-effects device (CX-models) on board, you have found the right thing.

The series holds its own with outboard mic preamps in terms of sound quality, transparency, headroom and dynamics. The neo-classic &ldquo British-style" EQs is a return to the warmth and musicality of the legendary mixers of the &lsquo 60s and &lsquo 70s that made music history. Some XENYX mixers come with a USB/Audio Interface for direct plug & play connectivity to your Windows® or Mac® computer- your mixer and DAW work hand in hand together. This makes XENYX mixers the perfect means of bringing together analog and digital worlds.

The Lexicon Effect section is equipped with a high-quality 24 bit processor - the same AudioDNA processor, which is also used in Lexicon MX400. 32 effect presets are available. These can also be modified and stored in 3 parameters by the user. A mute funktion and PFL (listening) possibility and the TAP-delay feature optimise the usage possibilities.
