Smooth Mountain is a blend of Colombian & Costa Rican beans, picked specifically from high, mountainous areas that benefit the most from high altitudes, moist, temperate climates & good soil, all of which allow the beans to mature slower than other varieties, resulting in a fuller flavour. In Costa Rica, for example, the finest coffee is typically grown at altitudes of 1, 200 to 1, 700 metres, but can go as high as 2, 000 metres & still enjoy excellent flavours. While in Colombia, coffees mostly benefit in climates experienced between 900 & 1, 980 meters, where beans take on a rich aroma & a luxurious depth of flavour. Our Smooth Mountain blend is a mild & mellow coffee, which shows hints of nuttiness in taste & makes an excellent all day drink, ideal to be used in a cafetiere or for making smooth filter coffees.
