Product Description

LOCATION Anchor Ley is located in the heart of the coastal village of Torcross. The property is adjacent to the freshwater lake (Ley) of Slapton Nature Reserve & is about 250 metres walk (along a public footpath) from the beach. The village is at the western end of Slapton Sands in the centre of Start Bay. The village has a shop & post office, butchers, a choice of cafes & an excellent pub that specialises in local fish & meat dishes. There is a regular bus service along the scenic coast road to both Kingsbridge & Dartmouth. VIEWS stunning views from the first floor sitting/dining area & downstairs bedrooms across Slapton Ley & the Start Bay coastline towards Dartmouth. ENTRANCE A canopied entrance porch leads into the hallway, off which is a small utility area housing washer/dryer & freezer. BEDROOMS Three in total, all on the ground floor. The master bedroom is very well presented with a super King-size bed (6'), bedside units, wardrobe, dressing table & chair, & views across the freshwater Ley & to the sea beyond. The second double bedroom, also with lovely views, has a King-size (5') zip-&-link bed (that can be split on request to create 2 x 2'6" single beds), bedside units, wardrobe, dressing table & chair. The third bedroom has full-size bunk beds, wardrobe, dressing table & chair. N.B. All duvets, pillows & bed linen (except cot linen) provided
- tenants need to bring all towels.BATHROOMS On the ground floor is a family bathroom with modern white suite comprising bath, pressurised shower (over), integral wash-hand basin, w.c., underfloor heating & heated towel rail. On the first floor (off the snug/2nd sitting room) is a shower room with shower cubicle, wash-hand basin & w.c.SITTING/DINING ROOM Stairs lead up from the entrance porch into a spacious open-plan sitting/dining room with stunning views. The sitting area comprises two large, comfortable leather sofas, widescreen television with Sky, DVD player, CD hi-fi with iPod dock & wood burning stove (logs supplied for first fire). At the opposite end of the room is a dining area with oak table & six chairs & a side unit containing binoculars & fully stocked with books, CDs, DVDs & over 30 board games!SNUG/2ND SITTING ROOM Adjacent to the dining area is a cosy snug with sofa, television, Play Station 2 console with several games, & jigsaw puzzles etc.KITCHEN Also on the first floor is a modern kitchen with views over to Slapton Ley. The kitchen has a range of fitted units & appliances including electric oven & grill, four-ring ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge & commercial microwave. BABY FRIENDLY EQUIPMENT A travel cot, stair gate, high chair, various toddler toys, children's cutlery, tableware, cups & beakers are available.GARDEN To the front of the property, with views over Slapton Ley & Start Bay, is an enclosed garden with lawn & decking area with table & chairs. Brick built barbeque. ' Little Tykes' toddler seesaw & slide (age 18m-4yrs).STORE To the rear of the house is a store containing a range of items supplied by the owners to enhance the holiday experience for their guests. Items available for use include two adult bicycles, two scooters (suitable for children aged 3-16 years), push along trike with parent handle, wetsuits, body boards, fishing rods, beach chairs, a pop-up beach tent, a dog basket & bowls!PARKING Ample space for two cars on the private drive, with room also for a small boat trailer in front of the house.OTHER INFORMATION Electric panel heating throughout with instant hot water supplied by immersion heater. The majority of the ground floor is carpeted with wood laminate flooring in the sitting/dining room & kitchen. Wireless broadband internet available. Up to two well behaved dogs permitted (but not in bedrooms). Strictly no smoking. Please note the road between Torcross & Blackpool Sands has been subject to some damage from Storm Emma – please ask our team for more details.
