Product Description

LOCATION The cottage is towards the centre of Buckley Street on the favoured seaward side, just a few short steps from Salcombe town centre & picturesque Fore Street.  The famous harbour & estuary, popular with sailors & other watersports enthusiasts, is within 50m or so of the cottage, whilst the beautiful beaches of East Portlemouth & Millbay can be accessed via a small passenger ferry that runs from the town all year round. VIEWS Wonderful estuary views across towards East Portlemouth, South Pool Creek & local beaches, from each of the double bedrooms & the living area. ENTRANCE A painted wooden stable door leads directly in from Buckley Street to a spacious hallway with beautiful stone flooring.  Access at this level to two bedrooms (one with en suite) & a family bathroom.  Stairs lead up to the living accommodation & bedroom on the first floor. KITCHEN/DINING/LIVING ROOM An elegantly presented open-plan area with lovely views features a beautiful oak kitchen fitted with bespoke units, granite worktop, large Lacanche range with five ring gas hob & electric double oven & extractor hood, integrated Miele dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer (with water/ice dispenser) & double Belfast sink unit having a professional tap with sprung rinse.  The adjacent dining area has a long wooden table with bench seating & Lloyd Loom chairs, whilst the living room has two large sofas, chunky oak coffee table, flatscreen 3D TV (with DVD/ Bluray player & surround sound system), wireless broadband internet connection & feature exposed stone wall & fireplace.  Three sets of French doors lead out to the balcony. Kitchen & household equipment is to the highest standard, featuring a full range of Emma Bridgwater crockery & Robert Welch kitchen knives & cutlery. BEDROOMS Four in total.  The exquisitely presented master bedroom (at ground floor level) has a wooden-framed Nordic-style King-size bed, bedside tables, fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers & feature original cast-iron fireplace.  The soft furnishings are in a Kate Forman print. The en suite wet room is fully tiled in stone & features an open area with Dornbracht rainhead shower, w.c., stone basin & heated towel rail.  French doors lead out from the bedroom to a private decking area with outdoor all-weather furniture (from which steps lead down to the utility room). Also on the ground floor is a delightful childrens' bedroom in a nautical theme with two sets of h&-crafted bunk beds featuring Lexington bedspreads & cushions (all full size 3' single beds),  bedside units & wardrobe. (Please note only the bottom bunks will be made up.)  On the first floor is a twin bedroom with full-size cabin beds (offset one above the other), small fitted wardrobe, dressing table & chair.  Finally a narrow set of open stairs wind up to a further double bedroom at second floor (attic) level.  This room has a King-size divan bed with deep buttoned velvet headboard, bedside tables, dressing table/desk & chair, full length mirror & chest of drawers. Designer sailcloth blinds with nautical fittings are a feature of the room. The stylish en suite wet room is fully tiled in glass mosaics & features an open area with Dornbracht rainhead shower, w.c., stone basin & heated towel rail. N.B. All duvets, pillows, bed linen & towels (excluding beach towels) are supplied. Most beds have Vi Spring matresses. BATH/SHOWER ROOMS In addition to the two en suite wet rooms (above) there is a stunning, stone tiled, family bathroom at ground floor level with an elegant mirrored bateau bath with Dornbracht wall mounted filler, w.c., stone basin on oak washstand with floor mounted Dornbracht tap, & heated towel rail. UTILITY ROOM At basement level (and accessed via narrow/steep steps) is a spacious area with washing machine, tumble dryer, Belfast sink & fitted oak units. OUTSIDE The ground floor decking area has a large, comfortable all-weather rattan sofa & views over rooftops to the estuary & East Portlemouth beyond. This decking area faces South East to get the morning sun & is sheltered from prevailing winds. The first floor balcony has a French bistro table with four chairs & more elevated views uninterrupted by a frameless glass balustrade. PARKING A seasonal parking pass for one car is provided for the long-stay car park (approx. 5-7 mins walk away) available from 31st March to 29th September 2017. Additional parking permits are available at additional cost. OTHER INFORMATION Attractive engineered oak flooring in most rooms with stone tiles in the hallway & bath/wet rooms.  Gas fired under-floor heating & hot water.  Wireless broadband internet is available as well as telephone for local & incoming calls only.  A travel cot is provided. Strictly no smokers or pets permitted.  For reasons of comfort the cottage is only available for a maximum of eight people with no more than 6 adults.
