For the relief of pain of non-serious arthritic conditions & for the relief of rheumatic or muscular pain, back-ache, neuralgia, headache including migraine headache, dental pain, dysmenorrhoea, feverishness & the symptoms of colds & influenza. Ingredients Ibuprofen 50 Ph Eur 400mg per/caplet Directions Adults & Children over 12 years: Initial dose 1 tablet taken with water, then if necessary, 1 tablet every 4 hours. Do not exceed 3 tablets daily. Children under 12 years: Not suitable for children under 12 years. Elderly: No special dosage modifications are required, unless renal or hepatic function is impaired, in which case dosage should be assessed individually. For oral administration. Warnings If symptoms persist for more than 3 days consult your doctor. Undesirable effects may be minimised by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms (see GI & cardiovascular risks below). As with all pain relievers, if you are receiving regular treatment from your doctor consult him before taking this medicine. Bronchospasm may be precipitated in patients suffering from or with a previous history of bronchial asthma or allergic disease. Caution is required in patients with renal, cardiac or hepatic impairment since renal function may deteriorate. The dose should be as low as possible & renal function should be monitored. The elderly are at increased risk of the serious consequences of adverse reactions. Caution (discussion with doctor or pharmacist) is required prior to starting treatment in patients with a history of hypertension and/or heart failure as fluid retention, hypertension & oedema have been reported in association with NSAID therapy. Cardiovascular & cerebrovascular effects Clinical trial & epidemiological data suggest that use of ibuprofen, particularly at high doses (2400mg daily) & in long-term treatment may be associated with a small increased risk of arterial thrombotic events (for example myocardial infarction or stroke). Overall, epidemiological studies do not suggest that low dose ibuprofen (e.g. 1200mg daily) is associated with an increased risk of myocardial infarction. The label will state: Do not use if you have ever had a stomach ulcer or are allergic to ibuprofen or aspirin. If you are allergic to or taking any other pain killer, pregnant or suffer from asthma, speak to your doctor before taking ibuprofen. Do not exceed the stated dose. If symptoms persist consult your doctor. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
