Pripsen Powder Pripsen Powder (Piperazine Phosphate) can be given to children from 3 months of age. Raspberry flavoured, it is ideal mixed with water or milk. The first dose of Pripsen treats the adult threadworms
- but some eggs may be left behind. The key to treatment is to break the threadworm life cycle. The second dose, taken 14 days later, treats the young worms that have hatched from these eggs, before they are old enough to have laid any eggs themselves, breaking the life cycle of the threadworm. Ingredients The active ingredients (per sachet) are Piperazine Phosphate (4g) & Senna (standardised 15.3 mg). The other ingredients are saccliarin, vanilla flavour, raspberry favour, caramel flavour, red colour (carminic acid E120). Directions Adults, elderly & children over 6 years: contents of 1 sachet in milk or water at bedtime for adults, in the morning for children. Children aged 1-6 years: 1 level 5ml spoonful of sachet's contents to be taken in the morning. Infants aged 3months
- 1 year: half a level 5ml spoonful of sachet contents to taken in the morning. For threadworms the follow up dose should be taken 14 days after the first dose to eliminate reinfestation. For roundworms additional prophylactic doses at monthly intervals up to 3 months may be necessary to eliminate the risk of reinfestation. For children under 10 years, only one dual dose treatment should be given in any 28 day period without seeking medical advice.
