Gaviscon Cool Tablets 16s Gavison Cool Tablets bring fast, soothing & long lasting relief from the pain & discomfort of heartburn & acid indigestion, which for example, can occur after meals or during pregnancy. You may particularly appreciate its cool mint flavour if your symptoms include a bad taste in the mouth. How Does It Work? Gaviscon Cool Tablets form a 'raft' over the stomach contents which helps prevent acid coming back up into the oesophagus (food pipe). As such it is effective at treating the classic symptoms of heartburn (a burning pain in the chest & mild acid regurgitation). Directions Adults & children 12 years & over: 2 or 4 tablets after meals & at bedtime. Children under 12 years: Should only be given on medical advice. Active Ingredients Sodium Alginate 250mg, Sodium Bicarbonate 133.5mg, Calcium Carbonate 80mg Warnings Not recommended for children under 12 except on medical advice. Patients with very low levels of gastric acid may experience reduced efficacy. The calcium content needs to be considered for patients with hypercalcaemia, nephrocalcinosis & recurrent calcium-containing renal calculi. Patients who do not experience symptom improvement within 7 days should seek medical advice.
