Gaviscon Advance Peppermint Flavour 300ml Gaviscon Advance contains double the concentration of sodium alginate compared with Gaviscon Original, bringing fast, soothing & long lasting relief from the pain & discomfort of heartburn & acid indigestion, which for example, can occur after meals or during pregnancy. Suitable for use in pregnancy. How Does It Work? Gaviscon Peppermint Tablets form a 'raft' over the stomach contents which helps prevent acid coming back up into the oesophagus (food pipe). As such it is effective at treating the classic symptoms of heartburn (a burning pain in the chest & mild acid regurgitation). Directions Adults & children over 12 years: 5-10ml after meals & at bedtime Children under 12 years: Should only be given on medical advice. Active Ingredients Per 10ml: Sodium Alginate: 1000mg, Potassium Bicarbonate: 200mg Warnings Consult doctor before use if on a low sodium diet. The calcium content needs considering for patients with hypercalcaemia, nephrocalcinosis & recurrent calcium containing renal calculi. Shake the bottle well before use. Not recommended for children under 12 years except on medical advice. Patients who do not experience symptom improvement within seven days should seek medical advice.
