A new Custom Tuning Port has enabled Ping Golf engineers to save 7 grams of weight which has been repositioned to the perimeter of the irons increasing the MOI. The new design also gives support to the thin face providing better distance control. A wide sole repositions the center of gravity lower & farther back to increase launch & provide longer flying shots. The geometry of the wide sole help turf interaction for better ball strikeing. Ping AWT Steel Shaft: has been designed specifically for the Ping irons. AWT stands for Ascending Weight Technology. Which means the shafts in your short irons are heavier to give better ball control into greens & the the longer irons are lighter to make them more forgiving & increase distance.
