The Undertones' lead singer Feargal Sharkey struck many folks as a bit removed from the regular-guy vibe of the Irish punk b&. It came as no surprise that his first solo outing in 1985 was a sophisticated set of slick dance-pop & big '80s balladry that was a far cry from the heart-on-the-sleeve punk-pop of his former b&.
