Contemporary artist Rebecca Mason works with neon light to create a unique & striking aesthetic. Her work explores the darker side of human nature through the medium of light, for a conceptually powerful juxtaposition. In using neon, Mason allows the seediness of the city to seep into the delicacy of her work, which is always centred around typography, offering a slight but profound comment on human existence & emotion. ‘ Money Talks: Under Sharing’ depicts the single word ‘ Money’, each letter bent from bright red strips of neon light. The eye-catching word is set onto a black circle upon a blue background, & Mason has printed a poetic paragraph onto the black disc, that ponders the effect of money on the human condition. The interplay of light & dark is mesmerising & profoundly beautiful & Mason’s ability to capture the deeply human is life-affirming: a brilliant moment of illumination in an all-too often dark world. Please note that this is a print only & does not include lights or neon elements
