Product Description

Tom Smith invented Crackers in 1847, originally as a sugar coated almond (bon bon) wrapped in a twist of tissue paper & including a ‘love motto’.  In 1850 the almonds were replaced with toys, trinkets & jewellery & by 1860, the cracker became more or less what it is today, complete with the “crack” that starts many a Christmas dinner! One big change over the years is the style of packaging & before today’s, more minimalist style of presentation, the boxes were printed with brightly coloured illustrations & some examples of these have been used by our designer Beryl  Peters to create this beautiful jigsaw puzzle. Dimensions: 49 x 68cm Number of piece: 1000
