The Nelson’s Gin School Experience
Nelson’s Gin School is a learning, teaching and tasting academy for connoisseurs of gin, or those who simply wish to know more.The day is spent in a unique environment, learning about the creation of superlative gin. You will have the chance to bring a personal taste and preferences to the creation of your own unique, signature spirit. With this gin experience for one your day will start at 10am sharp where you will meet with other participants and staff for a cup of coffee and a short briefing. Following an introduction to the day, you will start off with a tour of the distillery, viewing the main still called ‘Victory’ and learning about the process of making gin and the botanicals used in Nelson’s Gin.Armed with insight, you will select the botanicals for use in your own
gin.At 11:30am, the process of distilling commences, you will have your own mini-still in which to work. Time to then relax with an ice cold Nelson’s G&T. At 12:15pm, there is a break for a leisurely lunch whilst listening to a talk on the history of gin. By 2pm, you will begin to bottle and label your own gin before sealing it with wax to take home with you. At this point you are able to purchase a bottle of Nelson’s Gin for comparison. At 3pm, the day draws to a natural close and you will be armed with new and exciting knowledge to boast to your friends. At the end of the day you will leave with your own 70cl bottle of gin, made from botanicals of your choice. These can be taken from the large and inspiring selection or if preferred, brought from home.
