Ginger Ale Bottles
- we`ve only just found these sweets but they taste incredibly nostalgic. I`m not sure if they were available in our local sweetshop when I was young, but they bally well should have been! They are boiled sweets in the shape of, you guessed it, a bottle... quite large (well long actually)
- you couldn`t eat more than one at a time
- but best of all is the taste. They have a wonderfuly spicy ginger flavour, not hot but a definite ginger warmth... a bit like `proper` ginger beer really (I used to make homemade ginger beer when I was young, it involved creating a `plant` which I had to feed each day with ginger & sugar. It was always incredibly fizzy. I made it until I was banned from doing so... when we came back from holiday one year all of the bottles that I`d stached in my bedroom
- old glass bottles
- had exploded. Took me weeks to clean the place.) Long story short... these are really good. & a lot less hassle than making your own!
