Waterproof Housing
Preparation

Before taking your EvoDX
underwater, or using it
around water-based
activities such as
Kayaking, Windsurfing,
Swimming, Surfing etc,
Take the time to ensure
that the rubber seal on
the rear door is in good
condition (not pinched,
nicked or frayed) and is
free from any hairs,
dirt or other foreign
matter that can cause the
seal to fail and water
ingress to occur. Also
ensure that the housing
grooves in which the
rubber seal sits, are
equally free of any dirt,
hair or foreign matter
and that no damage or
scratching has occurred
to those grooves. A very
small amount of silicon
grease applied sparingly
to the rubber seal will
assist in providing a
water-tight seal.

This level of
preparation applies to
all waterproof cases and
equipment, not just the
EvoDX housings - so if
you have other waterproof
kit - take the time to
check it thoroughly
before you use it in very
wet environments, so you
do not allow water
ingress to potentially
damage your equipment.

IMPORTANT WATERPROOF
HOUSING PREPARATION: For
EvoDX cameras AND for all
similar Sport and Action
Cameras!

Before taking your EvoDX
underwater, or using it
around water-based
activities such as
Kayaking, Windsurfing,
Swimming, Surfing etc,
Please take the time to
ensure that the rubber
seal on the rear door of
the casing is in good
condition (it must not
have been pinched,
nicked or frayed). Make
sure that it is free from
any hairs, dirt, sand
or any other foreign
matter that can cause the
seal to fail. Depending
on the immersion time and
depth that the camera is
used a leak or water
ingress can occur if the
seal has not been
properly checked and
prepared and subsequent
damage to the camera will
not be covered under
warranty!.Please also
ensure that the housing
grooves in which the
rubber seal sits, are
equally free of any sand,
dirt, hair or foreign
matter and that no damage
or scratching has
occurred to those
grooves. A very small
amount of silicon grease
applied sparingly to the
rubber seal will also
assist in providing a
water-tight seal. If in
any doubt we would
recommend that you test
the casing without the
camera installed. Put
some dry tissue inside
the housing and test as
required. If after
opening the housing the
tissue is wet or soaked
then you will be pleased
that the camera was not
inside!! Repeat the test
until you can be 100%
certain that the seal has
not been damaged or
compromised in any way.
Again we would stress
that just like all other
action camera systems
(including GoPro) that
these basic checks are
adhered too before you
put the camera into any
wet situation as we
cannot accept any returns
or complaints based on a
water ingress. Thank you

Absorbing Portable
Dehumidifier - Value Twin Pack

These 2 rechargeable
dehumidifiers each
contain 300g of silica
gel which will gather
moisture from the
surrounding area to
protect your motor
home/caravan etc from
dampness. They each come
complete with a hanging
hook for easy placement
in a suitable location &
to enable recharging,
one cable is supplied
with a 230V 3 Amp plug.
The easy to read
indicator will show pink
when the dehumidifier
needs recharging & blue
when the unit is ready to
use simply plug in &
recharge overnight. The
units can last up to 3-4
months between
recharging, depending on
the volume of air & the
amount of moisture in the
atmosphere.

It should also be noted
that silica gel crystal
are not recharged by heat
but by the water
naturally moving from the
damp crystals to drier
air, the electrical
heating only serves to
speed this up. If you
want to test this out
then try drying clothes
under a hot shower, no
matter how much heat you
introduce the clothes
will stay wet or even get
wetter. The point here is
that silica gel
dehumidifiers much be
recharged in a dry
environment, not in the
damp place that you are
trying to dry out. Think
of them like a mop, they
work in exactly the same
way. After mopping up the
floor you wouldn't
squeeze the water out
over the floor you just
moppped up, would you?
You'd squeeze it out
somewhere you want the
water moved to, like a
sink or bucket. Also,
when you want to dry the
mop out you'd put it in a
dry place, if you wanted
to speed up the drying
you'd place it in a WARM
dry place. Silica gel
crystals, (i.e. the
'glass' beads in these
units) work in exactly
the same way as a mop,
they just 'mop
